Włocławek
2020
The project for a permanent exhibition in the historic building of the Włocławskie Towarzystwo Wzajemnego Kredytu, encompasses two levels, highlighting the aesthetic qualities of early 20th-century architecture. The exhibition is organized around a central skylight, providing natural lighting for both levels. The stairs connecting levels 0 and -1 enable convenient vertical communication.
On level 0, there is an exhibition-scientific section, organized in two layers around the skylight. The outer layer presents the history of pre-war Włocławek factories through documents and multimedia, while the inner layer on illuminated shelves showcases post-war exhibits, biographies of designers, and collaborations with the Institute of Industrial Design. The most valuable exhibits are placed in glass display cases.
Level -1 is dedicated to workshops and education, where visitors can see the ceramic production process and participate in painting courses. This section also includes film screenings and other attractions related to the building's history.
Additionally, there is planned space for temporary exhibitions, a conference room, a library, and a souvenir shop. The entire facility is accessible for people with disabilities, with a new elevator and adapted restroom.
The project aims to integrate the ceramics community, build the city's identity, and emphasize local pride and regional belonging.
